Less than 2 Weeks Out!
Welcome to the Pandemic Policython! We're excited to have you.
Welcome to the Pandemic Policython! We’re excited to welcome you to our inaugural event where you will be writing policy proposals with the support of international policymakers, academic centers, and non-profit organizations.
Within the next week, we’ll be sending out our Participant Guidebook, Event Schedule, and what to expect during the policython. For now, here’s a brief overview of what to expect.
Speakers:
We’ve recruited speakers from various backgrounds, institutions, and areas of expertise drawing speakers from the Harvard Economics Department to organizations like the International Public Policy Association. Some of our speakers include Paul Winfree, director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies and Richard F. Aster Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, and Professor Rebecca Brenner, a Lecturer and Teaching Faculty at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs specializing in Environmental Policy.
Partners and Sponsors:
As most of you know, we’re partnered with over 20 mission-driven organizations including the Harvard Institute of Politics Policy Program, European Horizons, Climate Cardinals, and the Cornell Institute of Public Affairs. They’re helping us organize this event and will be supporting you through the policy development process.
Mentors:
At the event, we’ll be providing mentors from the Harvard Kennedy School, WHO, Poverty Action Lab, and more. They’ll be there to share their expertise, offer suggestions, and answer any questions you have throughout the proposal process.

Team Formation
As you know, teams range from one to four members. Teams cannot be larger than 4. If you are in a team of 5 or more, please re-form your team. Reach out to us for help with this. If you already applied with a team, make sure all of your team members join our organizing server at https://bit.ly/policythondiscord and introduce yourselves in #introductions-and-team-building.
For those looking for team members, indicate that you’re open to joining a team in your introduction in #introductions-and-team-building. Feel free to reach out to people on Discord that you want to team up with and create teams. One of the event organizers or interns will be checking on you to see if you need help with finding a teammate.
Thank you all so much for joining us in our inaugural event and we look forward to hosting you from Oct 23rd to 25th. Please share this event with anyone you think who might be interested!
Ad astra,
Policy for the People Team
